The 2019 Cycling season has ended

With the Tour of Guangxi the last WorldTour race of the season is over. It was only the 3rd edition of the race, but many believe it can become as big as the Tour de France.

China is working on a cycling culture and the UCI has been working together with Wanda Group, the company of the Chinese billionaire Wang Jianlin, for a couple of years to accomplish this culture. One of the main goals is making cycling 1 of biggest sports in China.

The bicycle is already a popular means of transport and with the support of such a gigantic company behind the sport and with fantastic sceneries, cycling has a lot of potential in China. Wang’s ultimate goal is to become the owner of the WorldTour together with the UCI as Wanda is already a long-term partner of the UCI and the collaboration works well together.

What a year it was for Lotto Soudal

What a way to round off a superb year for Lotto Soudal! The Tour of Guangxi was the final World Tour event and the squad made sure off going out with a bang, after Tomasz Marczyński capped off the perfect job of his teammates and blasted through the mountains to secure the mountain classification for Lotto Soudal, the team could finally enjoy their vacation. What a year it was for Lotto Soudal on a sporting level, but on the extra sporting level it wasn’t all sunshine and roses.
